Ginger Ale in flavours-fnbworld

 

The Ginger Ale is a clear effervescent non-alcoholic drink flavoured with ginger extract. One can find various brands of ginger ale in any supermarket. However, making your own drink at home creates a remarkably better taste.


Ginger has been used as medicine for thousands of years and has the following healing properties:

• Soothes digestive disturbances

• Alleviates nausea 

• Calms coughing and respiratory problems

• Reduces fever 

• Helps lower cholesterol

• Stimulates the circulatory system

• Helps relieve muscle aches and pain

• Can help get rid of dandruff

• Effective in lowering blood pressure and cancer risk


INGREDIENTS


Ginger water


• 1 cup finely chopped ginger

• 2 cups water

Simple Syrup

• 1 cup sugar

• 1 cup water 

• soda

• Lime juice

• Lime wedges

Serves 2


METHOD


a. Boil 2 cups of water to in a saucepan. 

b. Add ginger and reduce the heat to medium low and let ginger simmer in the water for 5 minutes. 

c. Remove from heat and let it rest for 20 minutes. 

d. Strain the liquid through a fine strainer and discard ginger pieces.

e. In a separate saucepan, make the simple syrup by dissolving 1 cup granulated sugar into 1 cup of boiling water and set aside.

f. Make individual glasses of ginger ale by mixing 1/2 cup of ginger water with 1/3 cup of simple syrup and 1/2 cup of soda. 

g. Add some fresh lime juice and a lime wedge to each glass.
